Deciding on the Product

We figured that as Asda's own brand covers pretty much everything you could need, it makes sense for us to chose a selection of products which require different ways of packaging. We will be choosing products which are packaged in different materials such as paper, card, tin, glass, cellophane etc so our designs can be proved versatile ascross a range of materials, shapes and sizes.


We have decided that we will be packaging food only as our chosen products. This way, our designs can be sold in the smaller convenience stores rather than just the larger stores.


As well as focusing on the materials we also need different forms of these:
Glass jars, bottles
Plastic/cellophane bags, tubs, bottles
Tins, cans 
Paper/card boxes, packets


We are chosing item which already exist in the Asda Smartprice range as this way we can refer to the actual items for nutritional information etc:

- Plastic - Tomato Ketchup & Noodle Pot
- Tin - Tomato soup & Tuna Flakes
- Paper/Card - Butter & Bran Flakes Cereal 
- Glass - Instant Coffee Granules & Strawberry Jam
- Cellophane - Rich Tea Biscuits  & Pasta Shapes
